12-String Electric Guitars

A 12-String Electric Guitar (like the name says) is a type of guitar that has simply has twelve strings. Like the standard 6-string it has the same string tunings except for each string is another string that is tuned an octave higher. The stringing is set up so that you play these two strings in unison to give the guitar a more richer sound. A lot of 12-string guitar players will experiment with removing some of the strings to get different unique sounds.
